Back to school donation prepares Ashland-Greenwood welding and fabrication students for success

As Ashland-Greenwood students step back into school this week, one of their first assignments will be to lay out their new fixtures, courtesy of Lozier. Greenwood High School Welding Instructors loaded up a Lozier fixture donation at the Distribution Center Tuesday, bound for use in the welding and fabrication classes.

The classes in Ashland, Nebraska, just outside Omaha, have expanded since they started and the need for improved storage and work benches has become a priority for the growing program.

The talented students have made good use of Lozier scrap steel donations in the past, learning while creating rocket stoves and fire pits. This fall, they are fabricating a “smoker” that they will be donating to Lozier. The smoker will be raffled off for the company’s United Way campaign this coming year, with all proceeds going to United Way.
