In its second year, the employee-led Lozier Community Grant program supported 50 nonprofit organizations across the country. Recipients were selected by employee committees in all five Lozier locations. Over the next couple of months, the recipient organizations’ stories of impact will be shared on LozierLink.
Babies Basic Needs has a simple mission: ensure no child goes without basic needs. After volunteering at the Middlebury Food Pantry, Kelsey Tubbs noticed that many of those who needed food also asked for items for their babies. So, she took action, founding the nonprofit, Babies Basic Needs.
Since receiving support through a 2022 Lozier Community Grant, Babies Basic Needs has surged in the amount of families it supports each month. The organization is able to acquire diapers and fill the needs of infants at a lower cost than consumers can purchase items.
“Since last year’s donation, we’ve been able to get the word out about our organization,” Founder and director Kelsey Tubbs said. “Because of the increase of assistance needed in our community, we are considering moving to a larger facility in the next couple years.
