In its second year, the employee-led Lozier Community Grant program supported 50 nonprofit organizations across the country. Recipients were selected by employee committees in all five Lozier locations. Over the next couple of months, the recipient organizations’ stories of impact will be shared on LozierLink.
FITGirl, Inc. works to empower young girls through outdoor, multi-sport adventures that lead healthy, resilient lives. Realizing that mental health plays an important role in the way people see themselves, Executive Director Cheri Reddick supports girls through a variety of programs at FITGirl.
Through after school programs and summer camps, girls learn from local athletes or peer role models, complete sports or activities and learn to build positive self-image. Camps offer more time to be connected with others and learn to build healthy lifestyles that include regular activities.
Spending the last five years in FITGirl’s programs, 13-year-old Dallis wanted others to experience the ways in which FITGirl can benefit others. The 2023 Lozier Community Grant will support Dallis’ vision, a scholarship program for those who participate in FITGirl’s programing. Girls apply for the program and applications are reviewed by college and high school students. At the end of the year, students in the program will receive funding for items or education that will help them continue an active lifestyle.
