Wednesday morning, Communications & Community Outreach Strategist Josh Gear and Community Outreach & Engagement Manager Ralph Kleinsmith attended the Burke High School College & Career Fair. More than 500 juniors and seniors took advantage of more than 60 college and career partners who support the Omaha school’s students and school.
A large number of talented students stopped by the Lozier table, including a few students at Burke who are children of Lozier employees. They were happy to stop by and talk about Lozier and the post-high school possibilities the manufacturer offers.
Continuing the day’s outreach, Maintenance Reliability Manager William Gist shared his knowledge and talents with Iowa Wester Community College’s (IWCC) Industrial Technology Advisory Board. Twice a year, State Law in Iowa requires IWCC tp meet with its industry partners to review its Electrical Mechanical and Electronics curriculum.
Gist, along with other industry partners, reviewed the 64 hours of classes and provided relevant recommendations on how IWCC can improve its programs while meeting industry needs. After the Advisory Board Meeting, Kleinsmith spoke to over 25 IWCC students about Lozier career opportunities with an Electrical Mechanical and/or Electronics degree.
