LoveWay’s Therapeutic Horsemanship Continues Changing the Lives of Children Through Support Like the Lozier Community Grants

In its third year, the employee-led Lozier Community Grant program supported 57 nonprofit organizations across the country in 2024. Recipients were selected by employee committees in all five Lozier locations.

These are the 2024 recipient organizations’ stories of impact shared on LozierLink.

LoveWay’s Therapeutic Horsemanship Center first opened in 1973, one of the first of its kind in the country. Today, the group partners with children with special needs from 17 different schools across Elkhart County, offering services and training at no cost to the participant.

Anyone with a diagnosed disability can take part in LoveWay’s programming. While attending, children learn to be considerate, caring for the animals and developing skills that could serve them in potential future jobs. Volunteers and instructors encourage cognitive development, asking students to follow and understand instructions and tasks. There’s also the physical and emotional growth that comes from bonding with LoveWay’s many horses.

LoveWay put Lozier’s Community Grant to good use, sponsoring two of the 168 students it will serve this year.
