Lozier signed its 13th class of Sponsorship for the Trades students Wednesday, welcoming two high school seniors to careers in the trades, in partnership with Metropolitan Community College.
Signing Day brings high school students interested in pursuing a career in trades together with trade industries to sign a letter of commitment to pursuing their career of interest.
This year, more than 40 signees and 12 industries participated in Signing Day. Dallin Gardner of Millard West High School and Sebastian Hernandez-Cervantes of Millard South High School signed to the Lozier Sponsorship for the Trades program. Gardner will pursue a career in Precision Machining and Hernandez-Cervantes as an Electrical Mechanical Technician.
Hannah Bolte, Director, People, Communications & Marketing, spoke to the incoming class during Signing Day. CEO Andy Lozier, Chief Process Officer Tammy Carlson, Site Installation Supervisor Robert Knecht, and Maintenance – Tool and Die Supervisor Ben Altman were also in attendance. In addition, four current Lozier Sponsorship for the Trades students supported their soon-to-be colleagues – Tyler McQuinn, Jason Groff, Aaron Adams, and Justin Warren.
Lozier has been signing sponsorships since 2012 and has signed and trained more than 33 students to become Precision Machinists and Electrical Mechanical Technicians since that time.
