Set Me Free Project extends human trafficking prevention education to Nebraska nonprofits and schools with Lozier Community Grant

In its third year, the employee-led Lozier Community Grant program supported 57 nonprofit organizations across the country in 2024. These are the 2024 recipient organizations’ stories of impact. Applications for 2025 Lozier Community Grants are now open through May 30, 2025; encourage nonprofits to apply here.

The Set Me Free Project (SMFP) began in 2015 in response to a lack of human trafficking prevention education in Nebraska. Its mission is to bring prevention education to communities across the country to stop trafficking before it begins. To do this, it created age-appropriate and industry-specific training, teaching, screening and intervention best practices to protect at-risk populations from trafficking.

SMFP offers its curriculum to schools, businesses and emergency responders and more nationwide. SMFP says that getting the curriculum to those most vulnerable to human trafficking can be challenging as this population often lacks the funding to receive the training. The Lozier Community Grant will help offset the cost of acquiring the training for its target audience in Nebraska so that cost is not a barrier for learning about human trafficking.
