Maria Vazquez received her Nebraska “50 over 50” award for excellence in her work in the Community. Vazquez’s colleagues Mark Campbell, Angel Campbell, Bobbie Frohner, Angie Simon and Ralph Kleinsmith celebrated with her at Saturday’s event.
The awards ceremony recognized 50 Nebraskans for their contributions in the state for work in Nonprofit, Innovation, Business, Community and Healthcare. The CEO of Nebraska 50 over 50 presented the awards along with Nebraska Congressman Don Bacon.
“The award reinforces that I have accomplished something very special for my personal development and community,” Vazquez said when she learned she was nominated for the award. “There is an urgent need for help in the Hispanic community, from assistance to mentoring young kids to let them know what opportunities they have, whether school or skilled trades.”
Working with the Hispanic community for more than 30 years, Vazquez has used her community partnerships to involve Lozier in supporting the Hispanic community. Lozier and Lozier employees now participate with the NHCC, in Hispanic heritage and cultural events, and support the community on multiple committees.
