The Project Management Office attended a professional development conference in October and held a team building event in November.
Director of Project Management Office Amber Sparano, Project Manager Todd Powell and Principal-Enterprise Project Management Gary Alvord attended the PMO Global Summit in Atlanta, Georgia. The group met with project managers from around the globe and met with vendors supplying Lozier’s PMO with the tools they need to be successful.
A number of topics the PMO professionals learned were about aligning PMO service with desired values through the organization, establishing a PMO services catalog, leading change without authority and the right projects for the right costs.
“It was a great event to help some of the Lozier team network and building relationship with other professionals striving for the same goals,” Sparano said.
The summit also provides Professional Development Units required for Lozier’s Project Management Professionals.
In November, the PMO debriefed with their learnings from the summit then held a team building night out at Topgolf. Golfing in a relaxed environment, Sparano said the team benefited from the dedicated time to take the focus off of work.
