Several Southwest Iowa students spent Tuesday tuning in to the career opportunities in Manufacturing and Skilled Trades at Lozier’s OneOmaha Campus.
The group is with Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates, also known as iJAG. The operation teams with schools across the Hawkeye State to provide career development programming, including training, site visits, employer engagement and more.
Students and staff from the Council Bluffs chapter of the group stopped by the Main Office and North Plant Tuesday, taking a trip through the facility to learn more about career pathways and professional opportunities in Manufacturing.
The group asked a number of questions, especially about scholarship opportunities, professional pathways to welding and how schedules work. Tourguide and Communication & Community Outreach Strategist Josh Gear said the group was a delight to engage with.
“Lozier’s connections in southwest Iowa are strong,” Gear said after the visit. “The students are bound for big things, and we’d love for the opportunity to professionally partner with them in manufacturing someday.”
The iJAG Program has annually worked with 7,200 students across 155 state programs, resulting in a graduation rate of 97 percent.
